Hanna’s ‘Second Saturday’ May 12
benefit for Healdsburg Jazz

On Saturday, May 12, your love of jazz and wine can pair with a good cause, a day-long benefit for Healdsburg Jazz – with an afternoon party under the oak at HANNA Winery.

HANNA Winery of Alexander Valley began a monthly benefit program at the first of the year, a ‘Second Saturday’ event each month that generously donates 30% of all proceeds to local nonprofits. For the month of May, Healdsburg Jazz has been selected.

During the 24-hour period of Saturday, May 12, 30% of all transactions including phone and online sales at hannawinery.com, as well as tasting fees and sales at both HANNA Winery tasting room locations – will be donated to Healdsburg Jazz.

That afternoon, from 1 – 3 p.m., a special event will be held the Alexander Valley location, 9280 Highway 128. There will be live music from SambaNoma, and a “pop-up” jazz shop and ticket kiosk will share information about the Healdsburg Jazz Festival line-up, from June 1 to June 10, and other events. Tickets can be purchased to Festival events on site.

This will be a free event (though minors must be accompanied by their parents). A special wines-by-the glass menu will be available for purchase, as well as cheese pairings and case discounts on select HANNA Alexander Valley vintages–all to benefit the Healdsburg Jazz Festival.

SambaNoma features Ruth Ahlers, Christian Foley-Beining, Jim Passarell and Tim Gahagan (woodwinds, guitar, bass and drums). They will perform an eclectic mix of Brazilian compositions, including works by Toninho Horta, Hermeto Pascoal, Egberto Gismonte, and Antonio Carlos Jobim.

The Second Saturday concept was born from the rewarding results HANNA experienced hosting recent, similar  fire-relief benefits. Other beneficiaries have included the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation, the Healdsburg Education Foundation, Corazon Healdsburg, Community Foundation of Sonoma County, Imaginists Theater Collective, the Railroad Square Music Festival, Girls on the Run, and the Healdsburg Wrestling Club.
