"Take Ten" - A Decade of Jazz
Our 10th Anniversary Healdsburg Jazz Festival Gala was an enormous success! Almost $49,000 were raised! Funds raised support Healdsburg Jazz Festival's "Impacting Lives" Music Education Program which includes the Operation Jazz Band program for all 5th grade students in the Healdsburg /Geyserville school districts, Percussion Song & Dance Classes by Tacuma King, workshops for the Healdsburg High Jazz Band, scholarships for private music lessons, educational concerts for the Healdsburg High and Junior High Schools, Festival musicians performing at schools, adult jazz education programs, plus - new in 2008 - "Bug Music", a special concert for families during the Festival week.
Didn't come to our 10th Anniversary Gala? You can still see a little of what you missed by taking a peak at the Live Auction Catalog (sorry - not possible to post the fabulous dinner, great live music, stellar wines, and - most importantly - the great crowd online). Most people believe that ticket sales account for the majority of the Healdsburg Jazz Festival's funding. Not true! Ticket sales only support about 1/3 the actual cost of the Festival; it is members, sponsors, patrons, and Gala attendees that help fund our music education programs for children and adults (plus the rest of the Festival cost).
