What a joy it is to watch his talent grow and to know that there is probably not another city of our size in this country where he could have the opportunity to play with so many professional jazz musicians three or four nights a week. We are very lucky to have the jazz scene here in Healdsburg and to have Kai adding new life and talent to gently "push" the groups he sits in with. I suspect that the inspiration flows in both directions but I still get a kick out of the musicians getting whiplash when he takes his first solo. In Healdsburg, it ain't over until the skinny kid plays!
