Donate to the Healdsburg Jazz Festival
A not-so-well-known fact is that ticket sales for the Annual Festival only cover a third of the cost of the Festival! We rely heavily on sponsorships, business partnerships, fund-raisers like our Annual Gala, memberships, and private donations.
These contributions provide us with funds to continue to keep the ticket prices of the Annual Festival lower, and do community activities such as our children’s music education programs. Programs like Operation Jazz Band, Tacuma King’s African Percussion, Song and Dance Workshops, Oaktown Jazz Workshops, and Healdsburg High School Jazz Band Workshops bring the history, culture, and musical heritage of jazz directly to our children.
With continuing cuts to education budgets, “non-essential” educational programs are being eliminated from our schools. Yet, so much of our American heritage is embodied in the arts, and no form of the arts embodies American heritage more than jazz. It is the expression of American promise, hope, and ideals, created by the African American community desperately fighting for them over the last century.
Every donation counts, no matter how modest. Like so many, our budgets have been cut too, as grants and aid monies have become less available. Your contribution today ensures that the jazz will keep playing in Healdsburg – for all of us and our children, too.
