This summer Healdsburg’s new restaurant Partake by K-J joins the Festival as our newest venue, presenting sizzling Brazilian talent Carlos Henrique Pereira in a trio with Harvey Wainapel on saxophone and clarinet, and bassist Peter Barshay.
Pereira is equally skilled on guitar and piano, using both to channel melodies from a deep well of imagination. He brings Brazilian styles like maracatu and frevo to the intricacies of jazz improvisation. Wainapel and Barshay, jazz aces who have spent years digesting Brazilian music, are sympathetic partners for Pereira. It will likely be a cross-cultural feast for the diners at Partake.
